Buckingham Food Bank

Food Bank June 2020 (002)

If you don’t have enough food to eat, we can help! We run a local Foodbank distributing non-perishable and fresh food in Buckingham and the surrounding villages. Simply ask to be referred by:

Citizens’ Advice by calling 03444 111444
Your doctors’ surgery
Community Nurses
Health Visitors
Social Services
Local churches

Our team of volunteers will then deliver supplies directly to your home, or confidentially through your referring agency. We also have nappies, toiletries, female sanitary products, and other special items on request and can take note of special dietary needs e.g. allergies or intolerances.

This service covers short-term emergencies such a sudden unemployment or loss of benefits. Therefore it’s crucial that the underlying issues leading to your food crisis are also dealt with, which is why it is important you seek help from an agency such as Citizens Advice and the others listed above. Sorry, we do not take calls direct from the public. Those referring you will advise us of your food needs including the number food parcels you may require.

Emergency food bank

As of this week we will be opening our emergency food bank in response to additional requests for food during this lockdown period.
Any donations can be brought to The Centre, Verney Close on Tuesday 10am to 12 noon and 2-4, and Thursday 10am-12noon.
If you need a food parcel, please email foodbank@bpchurch.uk to arrange a collection time.
Those being referred for a food parcel by care agencies such as CAB, Social Services, Health Visitors, Family Support Teams etc will continue to receive their parcels in the usual way so do not need to contact the emergency team .
To ensure we are COVID compliant, we will work on a collection time basis.
Thank you to everyone who has already donated as we continue to support those in need.
