Bellringing
We have 8 bells at SS Peter and Paul, the heaviest bell weighs in at 27cwt (1400kg).
Our regular ringers are shared between Buckingham, Maids Moreton and Stowe Churches so we ring for services and practices on a rota which can be seen here.
Visiting ringers are welcome to join us at our practices and service ringing.
Our ringers range from teenagers to those well into retirement.
You don’t have to be musical to ring - ringing is about rhythm and patterns of numbers rather than music. It takes a while to learn how to pull the rope and then you can move on to ringing changes.
If you want to come and learn to ring, contact Ibby Graeme, the ringing master.
It's not just about ringing, we also get together as a quiz team and we have organised visits to Big Ben, the Whitechapel Bell Foundry and Tower Bridge in the last couple of years. We also have the infamous bellringers' annual vegetable competition as well as a summer walk and barbeque.
