Buckingham Church Choir is a welcoming and thriving group of children and adults!
Buckingham Parish Church has a long-standing choral tradition which goes back to the rebuilding of the church in the 1780s. We sing a wide range of choral music regularly at the 9:00am Sunday Eucharist, and occasionally at other services in Buckingham Benefice.

The Choir plays a leading role in worship and offers all ages something very special - there’s something for everyone to feel part of, particularly for children developing their faith, musical skills, well-being and confidence. Children receive not only an excellent musical education through the choir, but most importantly make friends and have a good time in a caring environment. Being part of the choir also adds important life-skills such as excellent self-discipline, concentration and team work. Choristers also have the chance to meet out for other activities, usually a trip involving food!
We're a sociable, welcoming bunch and we look after each other - all ages included. We hold an annual dinner and there are other social occasions, giving thanks for the gift of music and fellowship together; further recognition that singing is integral to our faith and enriches us. Most recently we sang carols for Florence Nightingale Hospice, and annually at our Christmas Eve gathering at the local Villiers hotel. We are frequently called for special occasions such as weddings.
There are currently vacancies for both boy and girl choristers, tenors and basses. Junior Choristers are paid in recognition of their commitment and service up to the age of 18. We follow the RSCM training and award scheme which enables choristers to progress through levels of proficiency and attend residential courses. We look forward to meeting prospective members.
